Cambodia, Laos & Thailand
This is the "Gate of Victory" at Angkor Thom (above) as seen by the French explorer Pierre Loti in November 1901, then almost buried in dense jungle; and now (right), almost exactly one hundred years later, in October 2001, excavated, cleared and partially restored, here it is!
Above left is a fisherman's house, beside a sluggish river that runs through paddy fields north of Vientiane, capital of Laos.  Above right, the Nam (River) Lik which runs near to the town of Vang Vieng, and is famous for its sandstone mountains which contain a warren of caves. Not surprisingly, bats are available as a delicacy in the local market. A panoramic view of the Nam Lik is below, as seen from Vang Vieng.
Below is the ornamental garden at Doi Tung (Flag Mountain) in Northern Thailand.  This garden is part of the estate of the late Princess Mother (King's mother) HRH Princess Srinakarindra.

Flags are what you would expect to see at Flag Mountain!
