| Here you see a more complete picture of the interior of the tomb, almost five years after my previous ones, with the altar now partly visible immediately below. Louis Desanges' picture has disappeared, although it doesn't seem as if anybody has been in there (wind, mice?). As the lighting is different, it's hard to be conclusive about whether there has been significant deterioration. The Crucifix on the altar was broken even when I first saw the tomb. |
| Below is a view looking towards the roof of the tomb, and you can better appreciate its tent form. We can see pendant lamps, lots more camel bells and a fan-shaped roundel containing a cherub, painted on the wall. I shall be interested to hear from some antiquarians with regard to the identity and origin of some of these rather sad objects.
